Welcome

I’m Frances, and I have been a professional portrait photographer for 20 years. Photographing people is what I do best, and my greatest motivation is to create images my clients will really love.

I am very aware that being in front of the camera isn’t easy for most of us, but I am confident that I can bring out the best in you and that you’ll enjoy it! I will notice your best side, understand how you want to see yourself and enjoy photographing you and your family being yourselves. We all look our best when we feel comfortable and relaxed, and that’s the way I work, and one of the reasons why I’m able to get to the heart of my subjects to create beautiful, emotive images.

My pictures have their own distinct style, classic but contemporary, making them recognisable as my own. A photographer by trade, but an artist by nature, I create beautifully lit classic portraits using light from a window or within my studio. Outdoor shoots give great creative opportunities and will add interest and atmosphere to your photographs, particularly if that place is special to you.

Whether you are looking for a set of distinctive images for your business, or to capture some special memories of you and your family, Please contact me.

I would love to hear from you

Frequently asked questions

I would like to book a sitting with you. When do I have to pay?

I will request payment for family portrait sittings and Individual/couple sittings at the time of booking. This payment will reserve your date and will include editing and retouching of your images prior to your viewing.

For business portraits and headshots, if you prefer, I am happy to email an invoice once the images are ready. Payment will be due upon receipt of the invoice.

I don’t like photos of myself or having my photo taken, but I need to have a photo for my business. What should I do?

Many clients feel this way, and I do understand. I have 20 years’ experience photographing people, so I can assure you that your portrait sitting will be a fun and relaxed experience, bring out the best in you and produce images that you’ll be very happy with.

Where will the photoshoot take place?

For business portraits, there are several options. I can come to your place of work or meet you at an outdoor location. Alternatively, you can come to me for business headshots where we can use either natural light or studio lighting.

For a family photoshoot, I’d recommend, when possible, starting at your home where I can take individual shots of your children and then moving to an outdoor location for some fun, informal shots and family groups. This will give you a good variety of images.

What should I wear?

If you have booked a sitting for business portraits, this will depend on the look you need to create. A jacket with an open neck shirt or tie always looks good, but that may not suit your business, so we can chat about it before the date. Please feel free to bring a selection of clothes that you feel you look good in!

For family shoots, unless you’re looking for a formal set of images, it’s best to dress casually. Dark colours and mid tones work well, but avoid motifs. If everyone is wearing a similar style and colour, that can make your photos look better.

How long is a photoshoot?

For headshots please allow one hour. For family and location shoots please allow an hour and a half.

If you have any other questions regarding your photoshoot please contact me
